Source tag:
c540fb3ae4. Apple Silicon retains its original verified source24520578ca; the two later changes only affect build-time CLI verification and its tests. No build or source receipt is relabeled. Each package includes a SHA-256 sidecar and target-specific build report. The build-set manifest records actual sources, hashes, testing and limitations.
Owner-reported Windows testing: about one day of use including LaTeX and PlatformIO without issues on 0.9.4. This does not constitute 1.0.0, Mac or Linux acceptance.
- Unsigned prerelease downloads, not publisher-signed public stable releases. Mac apps are ad-hoc signed and not notarized; OS warnings may occur. Do not disable OS security protections.
- The private-unsigned build profile describes construction and remains unchanged in the original reports. The owner explicitly authorized public prerelease distribution.
- 1.0.0 real-world desktop testing remains pending. Windows 0.9.4 owner testing is recorded separately, not transferred to this release.
- Linux packages target Ubuntu/Kubuntu 24.04+ x64. Intel Mac was built under Rosetta on Apple Silicon, not accepted on a physical Intel Mac.
- No managed Windows update manifest is included. The existing automatic-update feed stays on 0.9.1. Linux/macOS use manual replacement.
- Apple Silicon retains source
24520578; other packages usec540fb3a. Only two build/test files differ; original package bytes, names and source reports are preserved. - Final interrupted-download retry, some cross-version credential checks, and authenticated Claude/ACP acceptance remain incomplete.
New Windows users may use the setup EXE (per-user installation). Existing D:\Apps managed installations should use their managed side-by-side upgrade flow; setup does not migrate them. Save and close the app before an upgrade. Preserve your profiles and older version for rollback.
No automatic-update feed promotion is included.

Positron Code 0.9.3 — cross-platform preview

2026-10-01 09:17:40 +08:00 | 10 commits to main since this releaseComplete source-build previews from commit
912480e2cd: Windows x64 ZIP, Ubuntu/Kubuntu 24.04+ x64 DEB and tar.gz, Apple Silicon Mac ZIP, and Intel Mac ZIP.Each archive has a SHA-256 sidecar and target-specific build report. The native-preview manifest links all four reports and archive hashes. Source is available at this release tag.
- Preview packages, not publisher-signed public releases. Mac apps are ad-hoc signed and not notarized.
- Owner-operated GUI, credential, debugger, board and LaTeX acceptance remains pending.
- Linux packages target Ubuntu/Kubuntu 24.04+ x64. Intel Mac build uses existing Rosetta on M2, not physical Intel acceptance.
- No managed Windows updater manifest is included; the existing automatic-update feed is unchanged.
These packages do not replace your existing installation or publish an automatic-update manifest. Use a separate user-data/extensions directory for isolated preview testing. Do not disable operating-system security protections to run an unsigned preview.

Positron Code 0.9.1 — private beta
StableSome checks failedTrusted main checks / checks (push) Has been cancelledreleased this
2026-09-27 15:35:44 +08:00 | 27 commits to main since this releasePositron Code 0.9.1 — reliability private beta
- Windows credential saves now await the persisted Chromium key record and database acknowledgement; deletions await database persistence. A first save can take about ten seconds. Existing credential formats remain compatible with 0.9.0.
- The stable launcher's complete integrity verification uses larger read buffers and bounded parallel hashing. Three alternating local comparisons measured a 53% median verification-time reduction, with substantial load/cache variation. No file hashes or link/ownership checks were removed.
- New normal-mode updater tests cover encrypted token persistence, HTTPS download, installation, declined activation, explicit version selection, rollback, disconnect and preservation of unsaved fixture buffers. Genuine private-repository acceptance is recorded separately from synthetic fixture tests.
This remains an unsigned private beta. HTTPS and SHA-256 checks are not publisher signatures. Existing releases are retained; updates do not close editor windows or save files automatically. First-launch process-crash tests do not certify power-loss durability or repair already-lost credentials. Native Electron binaries derive from the existing locally compiled pinned runtime with guarded source-equivalent JavaScript patches; this is not a fresh Electron/native-module rebuild. No new WSL, telemetry, Copilot or Microsoft sign-in features are added.

Positron Code 0.9.0 — private beta
StableSome checks failedTrusted main checks / checks (push) Has been cancelledreleased this
2026-09-27 12:05:07 +08:00 | 28 commits to main since this releasePositron Code 0.9.0 — private beta
This release begins the reliability phase. It is not a 1.0 or security-certification claim.
- Stable verified Windows launcher with atomic version selection, previous-version retention and repaired shortcut targets; running version/update state in the editor.
- Private Forgejo release detection, encrypted repository-token prompt, bounded verified downloads, side-by-side installation, explicit unsigned-beta consent and optional pinned Ed25519 verification.
- External-agent Fix with AI model/effort settings where supported, no-inference health checks and clearer connection errors. One live synthetic Codex proposal tested; Claude/ACP remain pending installed authenticated adapters.
- Git message-only amendment for eligible local HEAD commits, reviewed hunk staging/unstaging, merge-editor links and keyboard/accessibility improvements. No automatic pushes or published-history rewrites.
- Source publication audit, pinned upstream source revision and clean-build/release gates. See
CI.mdfor required runner setup and actual evidence boundaries.
Known limits: publisher/Authenticode signing needs owner credentials; the first-launch Chromium encrypted-key crash-durability issue is not resolved; macOS/Linux release artifacts are not produced; no WSL feature was added. Old-version cleanup is review-only. Full fresh native-build and residual dependency findings must be read from the recorded verification/security reports, not inferred from the presence of workflow files.
See
UPDATES.mdfor private update access, safe switching and rollback. The stable launcher deliberately verifies the complete immutable file ledger at startup and refuses to forward into an older running app. Save and close all Positron windows before switching.Downloads
