Positron Code 0.9.1 — reliability private beta

    • Windows credential saves now await the persisted Chromium key record and database acknowledgement; deletions await database persistence. A first save can take about ten seconds. Existing credential formats remain compatible with 0.9.0.
    • The stable launcher's complete integrity verification uses larger read buffers and bounded parallel hashing. Three alternating local comparisons measured a 53% median verification-time reduction, with substantial load/cache variation. No file hashes or link/ownership checks were removed.
    • New normal-mode updater tests cover encrypted token persistence, HTTPS download, installation, declined activation, explicit version selection, rollback, disconnect and preservation of unsaved fixture buffers. Genuine private-repository acceptance is recorded separately from synthetic fixture tests.

This remains an unsigned private beta. HTTPS and SHA-256 checks are not publisher signatures. Existing releases are retained; updates do not close editor windows or save files automatically. First-launch process-crash tests do not certify power-loss durability or repair already-lost credentials. Native Electron binaries derive from the existing locally compiled pinned runtime with guarded source-equivalent JavaScript patches; this is not a fresh Electron/native-module rebuild. No new WSL, telemetry, Copilot or Microsoft sign-in features are added.
